The Fidelity Charitable report, Volunteering and Philanthropy, found that 87 percent of volunteers say there is a relationship between their volunteer behavior and the causes they support financially. The same study found that 79 percent of donors volunteer for a charitable organization. There is a clear cut relationship between donors and volunteers, but what does that look like practically?

In this session, we’ll interview Alison Gerber, who is the Volunteer and Development Manager at Open Books. This Chicago-based Neon CRM client has been helping provide literacy experiences for tens of thousands of readers each year through the sale of new and used donated books and inspiring programs. During our time together, we’ll:

  • Learn how Open Books works with its volunteers and explore shifts needed during the pandemic
  • Unpack how they turn donors into volunteers, further deepening affinity for their mission
  • Dive into the ways that they create a community that celebrates all the support that they receive
  • Apply some of the lessons learned during the session into how to utilize Neon CRM to help turn donors into volunteers
