GenOn Ministries Experiences Growth and Efficiencies with Neon CRM

A generational ministry organization, GenOn Ministries provides programs for churches—both big and small—to do intergenerational ministry. An ordained minister herself, Amanda Nevin got involved with the organization, formerly known as The LOGOS Ministry, when the executive director approached her about becoming the database administrator.

Even though Nevin lacked database management experience, she jumped right in and began researching solutions for the organization to escape cumbersome Excel spreadsheets. It was important to Nevin to find a CRM that fit their budget, their needs, and was user-friendly. Neon CRM fit the bill.

GenOn serves hundreds of churches with thousands of attendees, which means they had a ton of data to manage. One of the biggest challenges Neon CRM solved for Nevin and her organization involved taking a massive amount of information from multiple sources and streamlining it so anyone on staff could see what church participated in which workshops. 

“The staff and team at Neon One made our transition into the world of CRM easy and accessible,” reflects Nevin. Now, staff at GenOn have all the data they need right at their fingertips.

Today, Nevin appreciates the time savings Neon CRM provides her with features like account match when she’s importing data.

Both the COVID-19 pandemic and organization’s new system expanded the types of programming GenOn offers. Now that they can run online programs, Nevin sees attendees from all over the world, including people from Norway, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. She and her team can capture all the participant data from all these diverse regions.

Lessons Learned

“For anyone utilizing the system to track both individuals and companies, it’s important to understand the nuances of those differences,” Nevin explained. Sometimes, Nevin still finds evidence of the errors she made in the early days of using Neon CRM. The good news is that it’s all easy to fix.

“If an ordained minister with almost no knowledge of databases can figure out Neon CRM, then anyone with basic database experience will do just fine with it,” Nevin chuckled. Neon CRM has made tracking their programs so much easier and more efficient.
